Lodge Dues

Just a heads up. It would appear that the dues in the Edgewood Lodge No.82 are going to be increased.
The By-Laws state that the current dues of the Lodge are $40.00 + GL per-capita ($20.00) for a total of $60.00. To change the dues, there must be a Motion in Writing brought before the Lodge at a Regular Meeting and read. There is no discussion after this first reading. Notification will go out to all members, via regular mail. After the membership is notified, the Motion in Writing will be read again in Lodge. Discussion will then take place and amendments will be considered, at that time. In the end, a vote will be taken, by the members present. If the Motion, in its final form passes, the By-laws will be changed.
It is possible that the motion will be brought before the Lodge on the August 7th, It will be sent out to the membership by mail and probably voted on at the second Regular Meeting, on August 21st.
Sounds like a good time to get an Endowed Membership. (20 X current dues and avoid this and any future dues increases for life) It is a great gift to the Lodge also. After you are gone the Lodge will still receive your dues in perpetuity.
